In Katy’s master-planned communities, changing roofing material, siding or exterior color usually starts with the association’s architectural committee. Cinco Ranch I and II both publish reminders that exterior projects go through architectural submission before work starts, and a community newsletter for Cinco Ranch II says even repainting siding or trim in the existing colors typically needs approval. Submitting first avoids redoing work.

There is no such thing. Texas does not license roofing contractors or siding installers. What is worth asking for is general liability insurance, workers' compensation, a local address, manufacturer certification behind any warranty and a workmanship term in writing. The about page goes into it.
